• Hz Umar ^Rz was initially against Islam, one day he heard his sister reciting Quran and inquired what was she reciting. On confessing that she had reverted to Islam and Ayat she was read were from Quran. He immediately said this cannot be word of man and immediately accepted islam.
• It is also mentioned that Prophet Muhammed ^SAW had prayed to Allah to grant either Abu Jahl or Hz. Umar.
  Allah had changed the heart of Hz Umar ^Rz and reverted to Islam while Abu Jahl remained as a staunch enemy of Islam and killed in battle of Badr.
• During his Caliphate, Iran (Persia) became a Muslim country.
