Ihsan

Ihsan (The Perfection of Faith) is worshiping Allah with perfect concentration as if you are seeing Him and if you don’t see Him, believe that He is seeing you.

To worship Him as if you are seeing Him can be attained by deeply believing in Him, His presence and believing that His existence alone is  the real and ever- lasting existence and the origin of all existence. While being humble, lowly, fearful and by aspiring for His vision with an ardent love for Him. The love should absorb him so much that his “self ” is negated.              If one does not behold Him in worship, one should persist in excellence of performance by believing that he is being watched by Allah the Most High.

Obligatory Practices of Sainthood (Faraiz e Vilayat)

Tark e Duniya- Renounciation of World is one of the Mandatory requirements of Mahdavia Faith. Several Ahadith of Prophet Muhammed SAW can be found that disdain or scorn world and worldly luxuries. Once one of the wives of Holy Prophet Muhammed SAWfolded the blanket multiple times and made bed. When Prophet ASquestioned her why his bed appears softer, she said she wanted him to sleep comfortably. Upon which he said prefer to have hard  bed. Prophet Muhammed AS had a very humble life style.

Desire of Vision of Allah (Divine Vision) is one of the Obligatory Practices of Mahdaviat.

  • Hz Imamuna Mehdi e Maud AS in his sayings said, ” Talab e Deedar e Khuda Farzat –To Seek Vision of Allah is obligatory.”
  • Some of the companions of Imamuna Mehdi e Maud AS have ascertained that a believer (mumin) is he who sees Allah with his physical eyes (sar ki ankh), or eyes of Heart (dil ke ankh) or in dream (khaab), or the person who seeks to achieve this attribute. Even if he may not have seen Allah in any of these modes described above, he is included among the believers (mumins).
[The reason for this being Allah rewards His believers based on their intention for good deed rather than if the good deed has been completed or not.]
  • Many Ahadith of Prophet Muhammed SAWcan also co-related to this obligatory Practice.
  • Prophet Muhammed SAW has said that on a person, who engages himself in perpetual remembrance of Allah, He opens the doors of His Knowledge (ma’rifat), fills his heart with the illumination of His Light and Secrets. All the veils between him and Allah are removed, so much so that he sees Allah manifest in the world.
  • Quoting Allah, Prophet Muhammed SAW has said, “When My remembrance and his indulgence in Me dominates My servant, I grant him pleasure and enjoyment (lazzat) in My remembrance, and when he relishes pleasure and enjoyment in My remembrance. he becomes My lover (ashiq) and I become his (ashiq). And I remove all the veils between him and Me.”
  • Again quoting Allah, Prophet Muhammed SAW has said, “I peep into heart of My servant and (when) I find that My remembrance dominates his heart, I become his (sense of ) hearing, which he hears,  his (sense of) seeing (basarat) with which he sees; I become his hand with which he grips (thing); I become his leg, with which he walks; and when he asks Me for something. I grant him (what he asks); and when he supplicates Me, I accept his supplications.”
  • Prophet Muhammed SAW has said quoting Allah that  “If My Zakirs (those who are engaged in the remembrance of Allah) knew what bounties they have missed by not being near Me, they would have laughed little and wept profoundly; if those who are near Me knew what they have missed by not having My love, they would have wept tears of blood; if those who are unmindful of Me knew what bounties they are missing by not achieving My zath (essence), they would have cut their veins.

  • Remembrance of Allah (Zikrullah) is one of the obligatory practices of Mahdaviat.

One of the sayings (Naql e Mubarak) of Imamuna Mehdi e Maud AS is, “Koshish e Zikr be-kuneed. Make an effort to remember (Allah).”

  • The importance of Remembrance of Allah can also be proved by Verses of Quran and Ahadith of Prophet Muhammed SAW.

  • Prophet Muhammed SAW said, “Should I not inform you about a deed which is best (in the eyes) of your Lord, and which is more chaste than all deeds, which improves your ranks, which is better than giving silver and gold in charity and mutual killings between you and your enemies?” His companions asked, “O Messenger of Allah! What is that deed?” The Prophet said, ” It’s the Remembrance of Allah, which is the head of all (good) deeds, and which is better than all the deeds.
  • Prophet Muhammed SAW has said as quoted in Mudarik, ” When your tongue is soaked in Allah’s remembrance, you remain separated (alaheda –solitude) from this world.”
  •
  • Two most important timings as per the Practices of Imamuna Mehdi e Maud AS was to sit with his Jama’at (followers) in Dairah in Zikrullah primarily two times i.e. 1. After the Fajr Prayers till Sunrise and between Asr and Magrib prayers. These two timings are called Sultan ul Lail (King of the Night)
Sultan un Nahar (King of the Day).
Those who have performed Mediation during these two   timings are rewarded equivalent to mediation performed throughout the day.

One of the obligatory practices of Mahdaviat is Saubat e Sadiqheen, which is to remain in the company of truthful.

As humans we tend to be influenced by people who are close to us or whose company we spent most of our lives with. If we stay in company of bad people we will unknowingly adopt their bad habits and we exhibit those traits in ourselves. Hence Imamuna Mehdi e Maud AS teachings ascertain to stay in company of truthful.

Solitude is one of the Obligations of Mahdaviat. That is to distance from mortals which has been a common practice since the time of Prophets.
  • Allah said to Hz Zakariya AS, ” Then did the angels call to him, even while he stood praying in the sanctuary (mihrab) …” Where he confined himself and prayed to Allah day and night.
  • And in the story of Mary, as per Surah Mariyum in Holy Quran”.…Every time that he (Zakariya AS entered (her) chamber to see her, he found her supplied with sustenance. He said, ” O Mary! Whence (comes) this to you? ….
  • Hz Jabir bin Abdullah Rz has narrated that Prophet Muhammed SAW stayed at the cave of Hira for month. He did come out of the solitude of the cave only for ablution, congregational prayers or friday prayers.
  • Hz Abu Muslim Rz said that the Prophet Muhammed SAW liked seclusion because it gave freedom from the worries and anxiety. He used this freedom for remembrance of Allah and wondering about the attributes of Allah. This seclusion also helped him distance himself from human relationships and gave humility to his heart (Khushu o khuzu).
  • Hz Imamuna Mehdi e Maud AS (the Perfect Follower of Prophet Muhammed SAW) revived this important practice of Prophet Muhammed SAW, where his followers would remain in the Dairahs and followed “Hudood e Dairah”. People living outside of Dairahs were called “Bahar wale” (outsiders) even today.
The concept of Hijrat (Migration) was started at the time of Prophet SAW. When reverted Muslims were brutally persecuted, Allah had ordered Prophet Muhammed SAW to migrate from Mecca to Madina. Based on which all followers of Prophet Muhammed SAW migrated to Madina. To migrate from one place to another for the cause of Allah is called Hijrat and there is great reward for those who migrate. Whether its forceful ethnic cleansing, avoiding persecution, security threat to lives or properties, or for propagation of Islam all are rewarded by Allah. This same practice was revived by Imamuna Mehdi e Maud AS (the Perfect Follower of Prophet Muhammed AS). And the same practice has been followed by his followers. Hence Dairahs of the Mahdavia community are formed at remote/desolated locations.

One of the most important obligatory practices of Mahdaviat is Trust in Allah.

“…And lay your trust in Allah if indeed ye are men of faith” –Quran.
Tawakkal (trust in Allah) means liberating (oneself) from the bondage of all of (Allah’s) Creations (makhluqat), in such a way that one’s sight (ruiyat) should be fixed upon Allah. This means that this is pure and unadulterated slavery of Allah and it is also perfect freedom.
