Shab-e-Bra’at
Why this name has been given to the 14/15th night of the month of Shaban? The significance is that the Muslim Ummah , from the times of the Prophet, on account of the traditions of the Prophet (May Allah bless him and give him peace), believed that this is the most opportune night when Redemption from sins can be sought from Allah, the Compassionate.
The Arabic word “Bara-atun” means becoming free from a thing. “Bari-a Minal Marz” in Arabic means, he became free from the disease.”Bari-a Minal Azfaar” means he removed from himself un-clean things. “Bari-a Min Daunihi” means in-debtor become free from his debt. Read More >>
Shab e Qadr
Many Scholars have tried to translate the Qur’anic term Lailatul Qadr in many ways. They called it the Night of Power, the Night of Decrees, the Night of Majesty, the Night of Destiny, the Night of Almightiness and the Grand Night etc. etc. However, the real sense of the word Qadr could not be conveyed.
