يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ
O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous
Surah Baqarah Ayat 183

In another narration, the Prophet ^PBUH said:
اللَّهُمَّ أَهِلَّهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْأَمْنِ وَالْإِيمَانِ وَالسَّلَامَةِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ وَالتَّوْفِيقِ لِمَا تُحِبُّ وَتَرْضَى رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكَ اللَّهُ
O Allah, bring it over us with safety and faith, security and Islam, guidance to what You love and is pleasing to You. Our Lord and your Lord is Allah.

Hazrath Imam Mahdi al- Mauood ^PBUH used to be very kind to the indigents (fuqara) in the daira and used to be very hospitable to them,as Allah has said:”And be gentle to the faithful who follow thee.”1 Allah has again said:”…humble toward believers, stern toward disbelievers…”2.

Ameer Ul Mumineen Hazrath Ali -Ul Murtuza ^Rz.is narrated to have said that – “O Kumayl! Say what is just in any condition. Be friends with the righteous and avoid the evil doers, stay away from the hypocrites and do not accompany the treacherous.”
